Following the success of 2016’s inaugural event with headliners Massive Attack, The Downs Festival returned in 2017 & 2018 with continuing strength.

The 30,000 capacity all-day event saw British rock band, Elbow headline the main stage in 2017. They were joined by Seasick Steve, De La Soul and Soul II Soul, the second stage featured Groove Armada, David Rodigan MBE and Roni Size.

2018 welcomed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, The Heavy, Khruangbin and Nadine Shah to the Main Stage. Orbital headlined the Avon Stage joined by Goldie and the Heritage Ensemble, Basement Jaxx, Channel One Reggae Soundsystem and Laid Blak.

The Information Stage has continued to evolve, creating a space where keynote speakers address issues affecting UK society. Previous years have featured comedians, panel discussions and speakers from the likes of Ken Loach, Akala, Suhaiymah Mazoor-Khan, Shappi Khorsandi, Matt Winning and Harriet Kemsley with the addition of live music from Soeur, Harvey Causon and Swimming Girls in 2018.

With a fun-packed kid’s area and some of the very best food traders that the South West has to offer,  The Downs can be trusted to provide an inclusive celebration of musical discovery and much more.
