Team Love’s links with Silver Hayes- formerly the Dance Village- stretch back to 2008 when Tom & Dave programmed ‘The Igloo’, the area’s first all-night venue. Over the course of the past seven years the team has become progressively more and more involved in Silver Hayes, and Tom & Dave now act as assistant programmers for the entire area as well as heading up their own stage- The Wow!
The Wow has existed in its current incarnation since 2010 and has fast become established as an important platform for some of the hottest underground acts to showcase their work to the kind of global audience that can only be afforded by Glastonbury.
In 2013 Team Love were given the opportunity to take The Wow to the next level, and the stage was transformed from a run-of-the-mill marquee into a landlocked party boat complete with impressive nautical façade. During the days the good ship Wow hosted alfresco boat party sessions from Skreamizm, Futureboogie & Hospitality and in the evenings the action moved indoors with acts such as Kerri Chandler and Carl Craig performing in custom-made projection mapped stage.
In 2014, The Wow design developed further to become a magnificent ‘Dazzle-Ship’ with headliners including Jamie Jones b2b Seth Troxler and Marcel Dettmann, with boat parties from Jackathon and Toddla T attended by hordes of sea-faring party animals.
2015 saw The Wow return in its grandest iteration yet. Adorned with beautiful hand-painted signage and a fully-danceable top deck, the stage played host to an incredibly broad selection of artists, from returning favourites Craig Richards, EZ, and Shy FX to modern-day pioneers like Mumdance, Skepta, and Shy FX. Proceedings were kicked off on Friday night by house and techno supergroup J.E.S.u.S – Jackmaster, Eats Everything, Skream, and Seth Troxler- who caused amazing scenes as thousands flocked to the stage for one of the Wow’s rowdiest and most memorable nights to date.
The 2016 line-up included Bicep, Four Tet, Annie Mac, Bob Moses, Maribou State, Levelz and Mura Masa, whilst 2017 saw the stage open with House Gospel Choir, and also saw appearances from The Streets’ Mike Skinner, Shy FX, My Nu Leng, and Solardo
With a fallow year taking place in 2018, the WOW! Stage is set to return in 2019 continuing to cover all bases by pushing new and emerging artists alongside more established names.
